The Barley House
Smiles exchanged, hands entwined, lips soft to touch
Pieces in this puzzle placed on the table for child’s play
The souls that crashed next to the multi-colored layers at our feet
Leaving naked truths to expose the delicate disappointments
Songs of sorrow embraced in gaze
Crimsoned cheeks nipping the estuary of lucidity
Moments stolen beneath the fast moving sky
Rain danced on hollow panes as we moved in and out of intimacy
Primal, pure, permission to feel innocence and freedom
Enveloped and clothed in your fragrance
Locked into your dreams, as clear as the mirror reflecting you
Raising Phoenix, stone fruits on the tongue, soft blankest of our love
Awakening spring, golden glistened skin moist with summer’s kiss
Brings seasons of change in our love slumber
Can pieces be mended to patch the gaps of space between your heart and mine
Longing for the March of new love and greater times
The Barley House
